"Paradise Reimagined"

Project type

Metallic micro-flake pigment and automotive paint on museum quality canvas, deconstructed weave

Date

2025

Size

80 x 120 cm

This work began as two pristine gradient paintings, each flawless and complete. They were created with the knowledge that they would later be cut apart. When the moment arrived, deconstructing something so resolved felt deeply counter intuitive.

The act became a practice of release. One painting was sliced and layered over the other, forming a tapestry like, fringed weave. The surface gained movement and softness through rupture. What had once been singular became interlaced and dimensional.

“Paradise Reimagined” reflects the courage to dismantle what appears perfect. In letting go of the ideal, a more complex beauty emerged. The work suggests that reinvention can surpass what we once believed was already complete.
